
The Tsingtao Brewery was founded in 1903 by German settlers in Qingdao, China. Since its introduction, Tsingtao Beer has enjoyed impressive sales growth and has always been the number one beer in China. Introduced to the United States in 1972, Tsingtao soon became the top-selling Chinese beer in the U.S. market and has maintained this leadership position ever since.
Tsingtao Beer is brewed and bottled by the Tsingtao Brewery, the largest and most prestigious of the approximately 600 breweries operating in China. The Tsingtao Brewery itself has grown from four breweries in 1996 to 48 today.
Tsingtao is made using only the finest quality, 100% all natural ingredients. There are no artificial preservatives, flavourings or colourings used in this beer.

The Barley used in Tsingtao is from Canada, Australia and France with domestically grown rice to produce a malty lager with a distinctive fruity aroma.
Hops
Hops are known as the seasoning of beer. Hops are fragrant green flowers, which provide the beer with its aroma and pleasant bitter taste.
Each variety of Hops has its own taste and aroma. Tsingtao uses hops from Western China, which are recognised for their quality.
Yeast
This is the mystery of beer. Yeast is a single cell organism that feeds on the fermentable sugars that come from the Barley Malt during the fermentation process.
The yeast feeds on these sugars and turns them into alcohol and carbon dioxide. The yeast is filtered out of the beer at the end of the brewing process a little bit remains giving the beer a distinctive taste.
Waters
The liquid base of the beer. Water makes up 90% - 93% of all beers. The water used in the brewing process of Tsingtao is underground spring water from the Mountains of Laoshan. This water gives the beer its uniquely crisp flavour.
